Description
All sixteen drainage pumping stations in this parish were damaged by wind, rain and flooding during the hurricane event.  Belair, Gainard Woods #1, Sunrise #1 and Upper Triumph Pump Stations are no longer operable.  Braithwaite, Hayes, Pointe a la Hache and West Pointe a la Hache Pump Stations were flooded above the engine intakes and have operability issues.  Scarsdale, Bellevue, Diamond, Gainard Woods #2 & Sunrise #2 Pump Stations were flooded to a level to flood gear boxes, chain drives and damage auxiliary equipment.  Belle Chasse #1, Belle Chasse #2, Ollie Complex, Grand DeLiard and Duvic Pump Stations suffered miscellaneous damages.  Pump drive systems, auxiliary mechanical and electrical systems, and miscellaneous civil, architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical ancillaries will have to be designed and replaced to work with the pre-existing pumps and other salvageable parts to complete a fully functional pumping facility.
