Description
Remote pump operation will be provided at two pump stations, Parish Line and Westminster Lincolnshire, which lack existing safe rooms.  The remote operation of these two pump stations will be provided by a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) communication system from two nearby existing safe rooms, Duncan and Ames.

Additional pump automation will be provided for existing pumps through existing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) located in existing safe rooms at five other existing pump stations, Ames, Duncan, Elmwood, Suburban and Bonnabel.

The objective of the pump station storm proofing program is to provide measures that will help maintain pump station operation during and after the storms by providing safe haven for operators, increasing protection against hurricane force winds, wind driven water, and loss of power that might affect the project area.
