Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine 1994; 87(): 143-44. Most of forty-six elderly patients undergoing transure thral resection of the prostrate who answered a questionnaire remembered the position of the prostate and the purpose of the operation better than information about certain aspects of postoperative management and complications provided during the informed consent process.
