60(5): 205-208. An information booklet about hysterectomy was generally well received by patients and did not increase their preoperative anxiety. Furthermore, the forty patients who received the information booklet in advance had less postoperative anxiety and were as likely to consent to treatment as forty control patients who received disclosure according to usual practices.
