  • Dal-Re R; Informed Consent in Clinical Research with Drugs in Spain: Perspective of Clinical Trials Committee Members. European Journal of Clinical Pharmacology 1990; 38(4): 319-24. One hundred eleven members of Clinical Trials Committees and the Clinical Trials Evaluation Team of the Spanish Ministry of Health were surveyed to assess their attitudes toward informed consent for clinical drug trials. Respondents indicated that it was important to obtain informed consent with forms that had been approved by Clinical Trials Committees. While those surveyed believed that disclosing the purpose, risks and benefits, voluntary nature of the trial, and the right to refuse were important, few respondents indicated that study design was a necessary element of disclosure.
