  • Reading AE; Psychological Preparation for Surgery: Patient Recall of Information. Journal of Psychosomatic Research 1981; 25(1): 57-62. Thirty-six women undergoing minor gynecological surg ery were given information about a procedure planned for the following day. They were interviewed either thirty minutes or three hours after disclosure in order to assess their comprehension of that information. Those patients interviewed thirty minutes after disclosure, as well as those having male interviewers, demonstrated greater com prehension of information. [Source: Sugarman, J]
