Trenton, NJ – Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells has announced that a record 3,651,994 registered voters in New Jersey cast ballots in Tuesday’s presidential election, one where voters also cast ballots in elections for the U.S. Senate, all thirteen seats for the U.S. House of Representatives, in addition to various county and local offices statewide.

With the extraordinary turnout, Secretary Wells thanked voters statewide for their patience, and noted that there were only minimal glitches at a handful of polling places – minor incidents that were dealt with quickly and resolved without further delay.

“I’m so proud that the people of New Jersey came out in record numbers to exercise one of their most fundamental rights as Americans, and in doing so being a part of history” noted Secretary Wells. “Election officials in each county and their poll workers are all owed a tremendous debt of gratitude for their tireless commitment in ensuring the safest, most secure and transparent elections process possible.”

Unofficial results for statewide and federal races, in addition to information on other election-related matters, can be found by visiting the Division of Elections website, www.NJElections.org, or by calling 877-NJVOTER.
