The information center of the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics was the first to make competition results available on the Internet. The Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics, 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, and the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin all have home pages on the World Wide Web. The available information, such as schedules and venues of events, ticket information, and suggestions for lodging, can vary daily and can increase greatly as the individual games approach. Other websites can be located using standard Internet search engines.

  The Sports Library of the Amateur Athletic Foundation of Los Angeles (AAFLA) houses an outstanding sports collection and what is arguably the most comprehensive Olympic collection in the United States. The AAFLA search page provides access to full text (as PDF files) to the official reports of all previous Olympics (except Athens 2004), the Olympic Review, and a number of other sport-related journals and books.

The Australian Institute of Sport is the state of the art training facility for Australian athletes. Its library, the National Sport Information Centre, supports the Institute's research in sport science as well as fielding sports inquiries from throughout Australia and Oceania. NSIC has an outstanding collection on all aspects of sport, the finest in the southern hemisphere.

  The Andalucian Sports Institute (UNISPORT) can provide much useful information on the Olympics, the Olympic Library and Olympic Museum. It is the best place to start for Spanish speaking researchers.

  The International Olympic Committee Website provides a list of its members, the executive committee, a description of the functions of the National Olympic Committees, and information about the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland.   The primary objective of the United States Olympic Committee Library is to serve in-house research needs, as well as those of affiliated sports federations. Staff are usually able to answer quick ready reference questions and can suggest resources of value for other information inquiries.
