    Avery Brundage was an Olympic athlete and for thirty-five years a member of the International Olympic Committee, as well as its president for twenty. His influence on the Olympic movement cannot be overstated. His tenure on the IOC spanned World War II, the Cold War, the controversies surrounding both the two-Chinas policy and the exclusion of South Africa from the games, and the tragedy at the Munich games in 1972. Tables include names and dates of every member of the IOC (executive board membership and presidency included, if applicable), and dates and places of IOC sessions.

    A series of 25 volumes, many devoted entirely to one summer and one winter Olympics. Included will be a volume on the ancient Olympics and another devoted to statistics and a series index volume. Also given full treatment are the 1st Nordic Games (Stockholm, 1901), the Interim Games (Athens, 1906), 1st Far Eastern Games (Manila, 1913), and the Inter-Allied Games (Paris, 1919) and the relationship of these contests to the Olympic Movement.
