Firewood cutting permits may be purchased at the Feather River, Mount Hough or Beckwourth Ranger District offices. Permits are $10 per cord with a two-cord minimum, ten cord maximum per household per calendar year. Generally speaking, the permit is for dead and down wood found in most areas of the forest, and snags (standing dead) within 100' of a road. Permits can be purchased by mail, but first-time permittees are encouraged to get their first permit in person.
You can also purchase a firewood cutting permit via the Mail in Permit.
