Little Rock, AR -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Arkansas Division of Emergency Management (ADEM) processed projects totaling $2,712,499.75 in Nevada County.

Soon after the December ice storms were declared a federal disaster, FEMA released an initial payment of $1,110,000 to Nevada County to expedite the clean-up of eligible debris.

The remaining $1,602,499.75 in funds from the projects will be released to the county from ADEM and are funded by FEMA.

Work consists of debris removal from county roads and right of ways.

President George W. Bush determined that the reimbursement rate for eligible debris removal in this disaster would be increased to 100 percent.
