The CMS FY 2009 budget request was submitted to Congress on February 4, 2008. This Congressional Justification of the budget presents the resource requests for programs, focuses on key performance measures, and summarizes program results. The CMS FY 2009 Annual Performance Plan and FY 2007 Annual Performance Report required under the Government Performance and Results Act of 1993 (GPRA) are fully integrated into the FY 2009 CMS Congressional Justification of the budget. Additionally, the Congressional Justification is supplemented by the Online Performance Appendix, which provides performance information and more detailed information for all CMS measures. The FY 2008 Annual Performance Report provides information on CMS' actual performance and progress in achieving the goals established in the FY 2008 Annual Performance Plan.
