CONTACT CONGRESS AND URGE THEM TO INCLUDE BYRNE-JAG FUNDING IN A SUPPLEMENTAL SPENDING BILL
Tell your Representatives to add $490 million in Byrne-JAG funds in the next emergency supplemental spending bill.

House and Senate leadership have stated that there is a possibility of a second emergency supplemental spending bill to be introduced and passed this summer. If this bill moves forward, it is likely that it will only contain domestic spending. Although a high priority for some lawmakers, such spending does not include $490 million in Byrne-JAG funds.

Because members of Congress will be in their districts for the 4th of July recess, it is imperative that IACP members reach out to their elected officials and stress the importance of including Byrne-JAG funds in a second supplemental spending bill. It is best to meet personally with and call the district offices of with your elected officials.
