Legal Preparedness for School Closures in Response to Pandemic Influenza and Other Emergencies.* Developed by the Centers for Law and the Public's Health at Johns Hopkins and Georgetown Universities, in collaboration with the CDC Public Health Law Program, this report presents summaries of state-level laws that expressly address school closure. Closing schools is a potential strategy for slowing the spread of an influenza pandemic. The Report describe school closure laws for all 50 states and the District of Columbia as of December 2006.
