Publication Service endeavor to maintain the highest graphic and printing standards while keeping pace with the ongoing changes at the Department of Veterans Affairs

Mission

Support the mission of Acquisition and Materiel Management by consistently providing technically correct high quality and timely customer service which meets customer expectations and/or needs.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities are carried out by five functions: Office of the Director, Printing Procurement Section; Graphics Design Section; Forms Design and Management Section; and Duplication/Distribution Center. Services are provided only to VA administrations.

Office of the Director Provide overall management and direction of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), printing binding and reproduction programs on a nation-wide basis in accordance with U.S.C. Title 44. VA Liaison to the Joint Committee on Printing (JCP), the Government Printing Office (GPO), and the Interagency Council on Printing. Develop policies and other guidance necessary for VA compliance with Federal printing laws and regulations. Manage and formulate budget requirements under the auspices of the Supply Fund. Printing Procurement Section Process printing requests; writing detailed specifications for printed material, and procuring from the appropriate source. Perform nation-wide press sheet inspection for quality control purposes. Back to top,This link returns the focus to the top of this page.

Graphics Design Section Provide publication consultation, design, illustration in line, halftone and full color and layout as they relate to electronic publishing. Back to top,This link returns the focus to the top of this page.

Duplication and Distribution Center

Provide duplicating and distribution services for VA Central Office. Prints and distribute on-demand forms to field stations as requested by Management.
