HSR&D Investigator Honored at AcademyHealth Annual Meeting

Kevin Volpp, MD, PhD, part of HSR&D's Center for Health Equity Research and Promotion (CHERP) in Philadelphia, PA, received the Alice S. Hersh New Investigator Award at the AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting held on June 3-5, 2007. This prestigious award recognizes scholars early in their careers as health services researchers who show exceptional promise for future contributions.
Dr. Volpp also is affiliated with the Philadelphia VA Medical Center and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Healthcare Systems at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. His research interests include health economics and financial incentives, particularly the impact of organizational and financial changes in the healthcare system on quality of care, and its effects on the use of preventive healthcare.
