CERTIFICATE FOR DISTILLED SPIRITS EXPORTED TO ITALY

Distilled Spirits Plants, Wholesale Liquor Dealers, and Others Concerned

Purpose. This circular is issued to advise distilled spirits plants, wholesale liquor dealers, and others concerned of the availability of ATF Form 5100.32, Certificate for Distilled Spirits Exported to Italy.

Background. ATF Form 5100.32, Certificate for Distilled Spirits Exported to Italy, was created in response to new certification requirements imposed by the Government of Italy on distilled spirits imported into that country. The Government of Italy designated the U.S. Treasury Department as the certifying agency. Under existing delegations of authority, this responsiblity devolved to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

There is no U.S. statutory or regulatory requirement to use ATF Form 5100.32. However, without the certification that the form provides, exporters of distilled spirits may find their products barred from entry by Italian Customs. Instructions for completing ATF Form 5100.32 and for obtaining the certification are printed on the form.

Inquiries. Inquiries concerning this circular and requests for ATF Form 5100.32, Certificate for Distilled Spirits Exported to Italy, should be addressed to the office of your regional regulatory administrator. Inquiries concerning this circular should refer to its number. Requests for the form should include the form number.
