The video provides the perspective of the former senior-ranking tobacco industry "insider," Dr. Jeffrey S. Wigand, whose foresight, personal knowledge, and integrity motivated him to publicly voice his concerns about tobacco and health.

Poisoning Our Children: The Perils of Secondhand Smoke
Video focuses on children and the serious health effects of exposure to secondhand smoke. It helps inform parents of the risks to children and addresses the links between smoking around children and the incidence of bronchitis, pneumonia, asthma, and ear infections in children. Video includes illustrations and animated graphics that show how smoke harms the body. It also profiles real-life situations dealing with relatives who smoke. Brief interviews with parents and experts are included.

Smoke Screeners(PAL)
Smoke Screeners is an educational program that helps teach media literacy skills to young people, empowering them to make informed decisions about smoking and chewing tobacco by improving their ability to critically analyze the messages about tobacco use that they see in movies and on television. The moderator's guide is available on the OSH Web site in a portable document format (PDF). If you print the guide then you can order this videotape so you have the kit.

NTSC stands for National Television Standards Committee (VHS falls under this category) and PAL stands for Phase Alternative Line. NTSC is used by many countries on the American continent as well as many Asian countries, including Japan.

This hour-long documentary on smoking in film and television features Hollywood insiders speaking out about artists' rights, social responsibility, and the First Amendment. The thoughtful and thought-provoking video is available with curriculum guides for high school and college classes. There are two primary conversion standards for videotapes in the world, NTSC and PAL. NTSC stands for National Television Standards Committee (VHS falls under this category) and PAL Stands for Phase Alternative Line. NTSC is used by many countries on the American continent as well as many Asian countries, including Japan.
