USDA Geospatial Data Gateway

Content Summary: The Geospatial Data Gateway or Geo-Data Gateway provides easy and consistent access to natural resource data. You can search for available data by geographic area such as county or state, use our point and click map tool to find your area of interest; using a gazetteer, or by entering latitude and longitude coordinates. You can also search for data by theme, such as digital ortho imagery, digital elevation models (DEMs), or soils. You can then view a thumbnail, or sample of the data you've chosen to know if you want a copy of the data. If you do, you can either download the data directly onto your machine, pick it up via our ftp site, or order it on media such as CD.

Crop Explorer for Global Crop Regions

Content Summary: The Crop Explorer web portal features near-real-time global crop condition information based on satellite imagery and weather data. Thematic maps of major crop growing regions are updated every 10 days to depict the latest statistics pertaining to vegetative vigor, precipitation and temperature, and soil moisture. Time-series charts depict current and historical growing season data for specific agro-meteorological zones. Satellite imagery from the NASA MODIS rapid response system is available for downloading. Lake level variation data for selected lakes and reservoirs in agricultural regions are linked from the NASA Jason-1 project.
