NCPTT is partnering with Northwestern State University of Louisiana (NSU) to set up a lab to research lasers as a method for safely cleaning historic materials.
At the heart of the new lab will be a specialized Nd-YAG laser that was developed through a cooperative agreement between NCPTT and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).
The laser has been used in research at LACMA for several years and was recently shipped to NCPTT for installation on the NSU campus.
