TIMS 1.2 Training Courses
Introduction to TIMS*
- Description
- A two-day course for new and inexperienced TIMS users. It
includes an overview of all TIMS modules focusing heavily on the
Client and Surveillance modules. This course will cover all
facets of TIMS surveillance data entry, data transfer and
transmission. The surveillance data transfer process, partial
data reset, full data resets, new transfer and acknowledgement
reports will be covered. Transferring data through the use of
email and FTP will also be covered.
- Target Audience
- Data entry personnel and others responsible for the
transmission of TIMS data and maintaining data synchronization
within the reporting area and CDC.
- Pre-Requisite
- None
TIMS Data Retrieval & Analysis*
- Description
- A two-day course for data managers. It focuses on reports, ad
hoc queries, frequency reports, canned reports and data export.
Import of TIMS data into Epi-Info, Access, and other third party
software is also demonstrated. This course will also cover the
new ad hoc query functionality and customizable export. An
overview of the TIMS surveillance process, highlighting data
management tips, will also be incorporated within this session.
An explanation on the use of the MUNK reports will also be
covered, as well as User Defined Variables (UDV).

- Personnel responsible for data management and data analysis.

- Introduction to TIMS / Surveillance
