Geospatial Metadata Implementation Strategies

Last modified on February 28, 2007 12:57

The FGDC is currently leading the development of a U.S. profile of the (ISO) international metadata standard. Metadata authors and consumers are faced with understanding the practical problems in upgrading their metadata records for ISO-conformance. The goal of this workshop is to help information managers and metadata authors gain a complete conceptual understanding of the challenges and benefits of profile compliance. A further goal of the workshop is that attendees will return to their workplace with a strategy outlining how to identify and analyze specific compliance issues in existing metadata archives and production processes, and to modify tools and procedures to achieve the desired level of completeness and compliance.
