Introduction
Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) enthusiasts can find plenty of opportunities on Georgia's two National Forests to practice their rigorous sport. The Chattahoochee National Forest located in North Georgia, and the Oconee National Forest located in Central Georgia, are popular with individuals and family groups that want a scenic and often challenging ride within the National Forest.

Off Highway Vehicles are defined as any motorized vehicle that travels off paved roads for recreational purposes. OHV's include: motorbikes such as mini-bikes, dirt bikes, enduros and motor cross bikes; four-wheel drive vehicles such as jeeps, land rovers, and pickups; all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) such as the popular four-wheelers; and dune buggies. Different trail systems accomodate different types of vehicles. Please read the specific information on each trail system page that describes the vehicles for which the trail is suitable. If you vehicle is not listed please don't plan to ride it on that trail system.

CALL BEFORE YOU HAUL: Even though we post the OPEN or CLOSED status of OHV trails on our Current Conditions page, there may be a delay from the time our field staff close trails on the ground and the information appears on our web site. We strongly urge you to check with your local Forest Service office for current information on trail conditions before traveling to these areas.

Important information about where you can ride, safety tips, rules, regulations, and laws.
Our Motorized Vehicle Use Map provides additional information about the use of all motorized vehicles in the Chattahoochee and Oconee National Forests.
