About Us

The Boise Aquatic Sciences Lab is just one of many research labs in the US Forest Service Rocky Mountain Research Station.

About the Boise Aquatic Sciences Lab

Management of terrestrial and aquatic resources has often been in conflict. Emerging science suggests they should be elements of the same problem, creating and maintaining healthy ecosystems. We are leading efforts to integrate divergent views such as those associated with the management of fire, roads, and vegetation for improved management and conservation of native fish, wildlife, and plant species. To this extent, the Boise Aquatic Sciences Lab houses scientists associated with these 3 Science Research Programs:

AWAE LogoAir, Water and Aquatic Environments Research Program

Develop knowledge of the biophysical conditions and processes that influence water quality and quantity, aquatic habitat quality, and the distribution, diversity, and persistence of fish and other aquatic species.

RESEARCH SUPPORT SERVICES

RSS provides full administrative support to all research activities at the Boise Laboratory and any related satellite work location.

We strive to reduce the administrative burden on our scientists in order to facilitate a great atmosphere for research.
