Migration North to Alaska

Other Reasons for Migration and Settlement

Not everyone who came to Alaska did so because of its natural resources. Many came to build the territory's (and ultimately the state's) infrastructure. They built schools and started businesses. In the 1930s, some settled the Matanuska region.
