Item No.: 08
Site: Potable Water-CROSS-CONNECTION CONTROL PROGRAM - RECORDS
Violation: THE CROSS-CONNECTION CONTROL PROGRAM DID NOT LIST THE FOLLOWING AIR-GAPS UTILIZED FOR BACKFLOW PREVENTION: BETWEEN THE POTABLE WATER AND TECHNICAL WATER STORAGE TANK (DECK 2), THE POTABLE WATER AND LAUNDRY TANK (DECK 2), THE POTABLE WATER AND JACUZZI MAKE-UP WATER TANK (DECK 10), AND THE POTABLE WATER AND POOL COMPENSATION TANK (DECK 10). THIS IS A NEW REQUIREMENT UNDER THE VSP OPERATIONS MANUAL - 2005.
Recommendation:Ensure that the cross-connection control program includes at minimum: a complete listing of cross-connections and the backflow prevention method/device for each, so that there is a match to the plumbing system component and location, and an inspection frequency. Ensure that air-gaps are included in the listing.
*Inspections scores of 85 or lower are NOT satisfactory
