Site:
Swimming Pool-TERRACE POOL
Violation:
PER STAFF, AN ALARM SOUNDED AT 9:56 AM WHEN THE CHLORINE RESIDUAL REACHED 1.4 PPM. AT THAT TIME, A STAFF MEMBER WAS TRYING TO INCREASE THE CHLORINE RESIDUAL BEFORE IT DROPPED BELOW 1 PPM. AT 10:15 AM, THE CHART RECORDER SHOWED THE CHLORINE RESIDUAL WAS BELOW 1 PPM. AT 10:30 AM, THE CHLORINE RESIDUAL WAS TESTED WITH THE INSPECTOR'S AND THE STAFF'S TEST KITS AND THE CHLORINE RESIDUALS WERE BETWEEN 0.84 AND 0.98 PPM. THE POOL WAS IMMEDIATELY CLOSED. THE CHLORINE RESIDUAL LEVEL DROPPED TO BELOW 1 PPM FOR ONLY 15 MINUTES. A REVIEW OF THE PREVIOUS CHARTS REVEALED NO DEFICIENCIES WITH THE CHLORINE RESIDUAL LEVELS.
Recommendation:
Ensure that a free residual halogen of >1.0 and <5.0 mg/L (ppm) is maintained in recirculated swimming pools.
*Inspections scores of 85 or lower are NOT satisfactory
