The Library of Congress, the Samuel H. Kress Foundation, and NCPTT hosted a Summit of Preservation Scientists in Washington D.C., July 24-25, 2008. Approximately 30 invited senior conservation scientists convened to share the objectives of scientific research in which they are currently engaged and to identify essential lines of research needed to meet today’s preservation challenges. The program was held to develop a consensus-based research strategy that supports conservation and preservation across collection types and scientific specialties.
