PIN FOR ONLINE FILING

To use the online service to update tax and employer records or to file tax returns and make payments, you will need a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to enter the secured web site.

Registration Information (REG-C-L)
To use the online service to report a change in business registration including tax and employer records, you may use the PIN for either your employer taxes (NJ-927) or sales tax (ST-50). If you would like to obtain a PIN or verify your current PIN, you must submit your request on your letterhead with the business' tax ID# indicated. In addition, you should include a statement that you are the agent/accountant for the employer and have the employer's approval to receive the PIN. The request may be sent by FAX to 609.292.4291.

This service is to make changes to the tax and employer registration records only. Eligible changes that may be reported in this manner include filing status, business activity identification number, business and/or trade name, business address, mailing address, etc. DO NOT use this service for a change in ownership or an incorporation of a business. If you are not a sole proprietorship or a partnership and are changing your business name or address, you may also have to change the information on the public record. If you have any questions concerning these additional filings, e-mail us or call 609.292.9292 for assistance.

EFT Debit Payments
The PIN to file the EFT debit payments online is the same PIN used to make these payments by telephone. First time users of the EFT method must establish their PIN by telephone before making any EFT payments. This applies to all cases including those businesses that will only be using the online payment service. The telephone number to establish or change the EFT PIN is 1.877.658.2937.

NJ-927, NJ-927W, and WR-30
The PIN to file the employer income tax and wage reporting documents is included in the quarterly mailing packet of these forms. If you did not receive that packet or no longer have that information, you may obtain your PIN by contacting the Division of Revenue.

Your request for the PIN must be submitted on your letterhead with the business' tax ID# indicated. In addition, you should include a statement that you are the agent/accountant for the employer and have the employer's approval to receive the PIN. The request may be sent by FAX to 609.292.4291. Please designate "Online Filing - PIN" on the cover sheet. If you are mailing your request, it should be sent to: NJ Division of Revenue, Client Registration Bureau, PO Box 252, Trenton, NJ 08646-0252. Your PIN will be forwarded to you in the same manner that the request is received.

ST-50
There is a different PIN to file this document. You will find your PIN on the letter of eligibility you received when registering for sales tax. If you can not find your PIN to submit a sales tax return online, you may FAX your request to have the PIN sent to you in the same manner as described for the NJ-927 above.
