The National Historic Preservation Act 40th Anniversary insert serves as a primer of information regarding the NHPA and the national preservation structure it created, explaining how and why so much of America’s heritage resources have been saved and put to productive contemporary use. It contains examples and stories of preservation activities across the nation, as well as information on the importance of learning history and the benefits of preservation. The insert can be downloaded in its entirety as a PDF document.

Newspaper In Education Insert companion
Since the National Historic
Preservation Act 40th Anniversary insert did not have room for all the
important stories produced, we compiled a companion piece to it. The
stories included in this companion cover 20 additional states and more
details about historic preservation. They can be downloaded as Word
documents and easily manipulated to correspond with local curriculum
and lessons. Also they are available as PDF documents for easy printing
and distribution to students, as is. It’s up to you how you
would like to teach from the companion piece.
