Where: The Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, Old Courthouse at 11 North 4th Street in St. Louis, Missouri

When: June 12, 2008, 12:00 p.m.

What: In commemoration of Flag Day, a 33-star, 36" x 20' historic Garrison Flag will be raised to the fifth floor level inside the building offering a photographic opportunity.

After the flag raising, Dale Obermoeller, Exultant Ruler of the Manchester Elks Lodge 2058, Manchester Missouri, will present two new flags to the Park to be flown above the Old Courthouse. The Elks have presented the Park with flags the past five years in honor of Flag Day and as part of our nation-wide Stars and Stripes Campaign which encourages Elk lodges to donate flags to monuments across the country. The "Belltones" from At&T will accompany the flag raising with their rendition of our national anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner" and will later conclude the ceremony with patriotic music selections.

WHY: The historic Old Courthouse will be decorated in the 19th Century patriotic traditions in observance of Flag Day and Independence Day. All decorations will be exhibited through July 20, 2008
