Annual 19th Century Holiday Traditions featuring period music and activities held in the decorated Historic Old Courthouse.
The month-long program begins on Friday, November 23rd with the tree lighting followed by concerts and presentations ending with a Missouri Frontier Christmas on Saturday, December 22nd. The centerpiece of all of the activities will be the 25-foot Victorian-style tree, adorned with more than 1,200 ornaments.
Tree Lighting -Grand Opening
Friday, November 23rd - Lighting of the 25 foot tree will take place at 12 noon, with a concert by the Landolfi String Quartet to immediately follow. Additional holiday concerts will take place at 1 PM with Victorian-era singers, The Caroling Party Quartet and at 2 PM by A Perfect Fifth woodwind quintet.
Saturday, November 24th - A holiday concert by the St. Louis Trio will take place at 12 noon, followed by the Confluence Brass Trio at 1 PM and a “Victorian Holiday” puppet show by Bob Kramer’s Marionettes at 2PM.
Wednesday “Brown Bag” Concert Series (all at noon). Bring your lunch to the rotunda and listen to Nineteenth Century holiday music!

December 1: German Holiday Traditions (12pm-3pm) Featuring DKV Chorus, discussion of German traditions by Joe Simon and Children’s Dancers.
December 8: French Holiday Traditions (12pm-3pm) Featuring Les Petits Chanteurs children’s choir, Sperreng Middle School Fiddlers, and The Peacocks.
December 15: 1857 Victorian Ball
Featuring Period Dance Lessons from 10am-12pm, followed by the Victorian Ball from 2pm-4:30pm featuring the Independent Silver Cornet Band with living history volunteers.
December 22: Missouri Frontier Christmas Day (12pm-4pm)
Featuring period music, dance and celebration traditions with period presenters and re-enactors.
