Question: How do I know if a free full text article is available when I am in DOCLINE?
Answer:

The following links indicate that "Free full text" is available. The links display on the Process PubMed Orders page prior to order placement, on the DOCLINE request after the request has been placed, and on the DOCLINE receipt.

The free full text article is available via PubMed Central (PMC), the U.S. National Library of Medicine’s digital archive of life sciences journal literature.

freeproducer
The free full text article is available at a LinkOut provider’s website.

freereg
The free full text article is available at a LinkOut provider’s website. Users must register at the site in order to get access to the free full text article.

DOCLINE displays the borrower’s LinkOut holdings information during Borrow and during LD Transfer to alert libraries to availability of item being requested.
