Welcome to the section of the web page that provides information for and about the many contributions made by the thousands of senior volunteers who serve as beneficiary educators in their communities. Within this portion of the site you will find resources, products, and strategies that volunteers are using to educate and inform beneficiaries in a variety of communities and settings (click on the Resources link to the left), spotlights volunteers who are making outstanding contributions (click on the Volunteer Contributions link to the left), and highlights recent trends and outcomes in the effort to prevent and detect Medicare and Medicaid error, fraud, and abuse (click on the Recent Developments link to the left).
We thank you for your interest and contributions to giving older Americans and their families the information and know-how to take a more active role in understanding and protecting their health care, and for helping to protect the benefit integrity of the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Over the past four years the Medicare error payment rate has been cut in half, saving billions of dollars for the program.
