NCPTT’s David W. Morgan and the University of Arizona’s Arleyn Simon co-hosted a symposium at the annual meeting of the Society of American Archaeology, held April 25-29 in Austin, Texas. NCPTT and the Archaeological Preservation Technology Research Consortium sponsored “Advancing Remote Sensing Technology in the Discovery, Analysis, and Preservation of Cultural Resources.” The program featured nine papers targeting a policy-level synthesis of the history of remote sensing, the challenges facing current practice, and its role in the future of archeology.
