Expertise

    Environmental Lab employees comprise a diverse workforce of biologist, ecologists, physical scientists and engineers with expertise and experience in the full spectrum of environmental science and engineering. Nearly 90 contract professionals, over 30 student contractors, and more than 30 administrative staff support our 185 scientists and engineers.

    Our on site research facilities support research in geospatial analysis and mapping, aquatic and wetland ecosystems, molecular ecology, fate and effects, hazardous and toxic waste assessment and cleanup, and analytical chemistry. The lab's remote facilities support research activities across the Nation.

    Our centers of expertise help bring together interdisciplinary teams from across the lab and the ERDC to address topics of particular importance to the Corps, the Army, and the Nation. We also support the Corps through our participation in several USACE Communities of Practice.
