The first step in planning your field trip is to align the activities during your visit to the learning objectives and curriculum goals for the students. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore offers many opportunities to learn about the natural resources and environment as well as cultural history of the area. Your limited time here will require you to plan the specific learning experiences your students will be exposed to while you are here.
Your trip will probably involve some Self-Guided activities and possibly some activities that will be led by a Ranger. Investigate both categories and put together a tentative agenda for your trip.
Your next step is to fill out our Educator's Planning Form. This will help you organize your thoughts and the required information before you call to make your reservation (231-326-5134).
Your group may be eligible for an Education Fee Waiver. Review the requirements and procedure for requesting the waiver before making your reservation.
