Goal(s): |

- Assess the variability of genetic test
result reports for cystic fibrosis and factor V Leiden
- Assess the
usefulness of various report formats to physicians in interpreting genetic
test results. The findings from this project may be useful in the
development of recommendations and policies to improve communication
between the laboratory and referring healthcare provider.

A variety of reporting formats were identified for cystic
fibrosis and factor V Leiden testing with variable inclusion of elements
such as specimen information, methodology, interpretation and comments
regarding genetic counseling.
