The deep ocean input to the Newport and Port Orford stations are very similar to the time series recorded at WC61 (top panel) because the source is so distant. But the response is substantially different at Newport and Port Orford (second and third panel), primarily because the Newport gage is well protected from the open ocean, while the Port Orford gage is more exposed (bottom panels).
