Program Example

The Illinois Comprehensive Cancer Control Program is developing an electronic newsletter that will be sent to the more than 80 organizations participating in the Illinois Partnership for Cancer Prevention and Control. The newsletter, which will be distributed via e-mail, will include cancer-related information from these organizations and from programs in the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). Legislative news, grant announcements, and conference information will also be featured.

To enhance cancer-related communication and collaboration within IDPH, the Illinois Comprehensive Cancer Control Program has brought together departmental programs that focus on cancer and related risk factors. These programs, collectively known as the IDPH Cancer Group, meet on a quarterly basis. The group comprises the Illinois Comprehensive Cancer Control Program, State Cancer Registry, Breast and Cervical Cancer Program, Division of Oral Health's Oral Cancer Initiative, Prostate and Testicular Cancer Program, and Tobacco Prevention and Control Program.
