BIS To Seek Industry Input in Advance of U.S.-Israel High Technology Forum

October 5

The U.S. and Israel recently agreed (press release) to establish the U.S.-Israel High Technology Forum (HTF), an Under Secretary-level dialogue designed to facilitate secure bilateral high technology trade and investment between the U.S. and Israel. The inaugural meeting of the HTF is expected to be held in early 2008. Under Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Security, Mario Mancuso, will co-chair the HTF with his Israeli counterparts.

In order to maximize the impact of the dialogue, we are seeking private sector input about barriers or challenges to bilateral high technology trade and investment, including but not limited to the impact of dual-use export controls. We will work closely with our interagency partners and the Government of Israel to address these challenges through the HTF.

We welcome and encourage your input. Please provide your comments to: US_IsraelHTF@bis.doc.gov. If you have questions in reference to the HTF, please contact Sarah Heidema, at 202-482-2906.
