Center for the Study of Healthcare Provider Behavior
|
To promote better health
and healthcare for veterans through better
understanding of healthcare provider behavior,
the factors that influence it, and the health
systems interventions that will improve it. |
|
Established in 1993, the
VA HSR&D Center of Excellence for the Study
of Healthcare Provider Behavior aims to improve
the quality of VA healthcare by providing broad-based
expertise in the theoretical basis, design,
implementation, and evaluation of interventions
to influence provider behavior and the healthcare
systems that influence it. The Center carries
out a program of research focused on healthcare
provider behavior and its determinants, and
is committed to increased understanding of
the features of the environment, organization,
practice, provider, patient and encounter that
influence healthcare provider practices and
ultimately health outcomes. Guided by a comprehensive
strategic plan and internationally recognized
leaders in health services research on its
Advisory Board, the Center is comprised of
a consortium of health services researchers
at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System,
UCLA, and RAND. |
