Dr. Sadler is a Core Investigator with CRIISP and Acting Chief of Psychology at the Iowa City VA Medical Center. Dr. Sadler is a nurse psychologist with expertise in issues germane to women veterans. She has particular interest in sexual victimization, and is the Principal Investigator on a VA HSR&D Nursing Research Initiative study to investigate sexual violence exposures and women veteran’s gynecological health.


Research Interests

Military Environments and women’s risk of physical & sexual violence exposure:
access to reporting of victimization and associated health care.
Medical and psychological sequelae of trauma for the victim and family.
The effects of trauma on women’s health care utilization, health care interaction, access to and satisfaction with care within the DVA and elsewhere.
Physical & Sexual Assault in Deployed Women: Risk Factors, Outcomes & Services.
Sexual violence exposures and women veteran’s gynecologic health and health services utilization.
Screening for PTSD in primary care settings.
