Dr. Christensen is a Senior Scientist and Core Investigator with CRIISP and is a Professor of Psychology and Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa. Dr. Christensen is a clinical health psychologist with expertise in the measurement of patient behavior and personality and the influence of such factors on treatment adherence and outcomes. In addition to his research, Dr. Christensen integrates accepted models of patient empowerment and treatment adherence into the fabric of CRIISP investigation.


Research Interests

Psychological adjustment in chronic physical illness and patient adherence to medical treatment regimens.
Related interests involve the role of personality and social context as joint predictors of psychophysiologic responses (cardiovascular and immune response).
