Computer Settings Guide

Use this guide to ensure that your computer has the needed software, plug-ins, and correct settings.

Step 1:
JavaScript Enabled Test

Your browser must have JavaScript Enabled in order to use this training.

Your browser does not have JavaScript Enabled.
JavaScript needs to be Enabled.

 

To enable JavaScript in your browser, do the following

Select "Tools", "Internet Options" from the menu bar. Click the "Security" tab at the top of the screen. Click "Custom Level." The following item in the scrolling list should have a check or a dot beside of it:

  • "Active Scripting" should have "Enable"
 

Step 2:
Browser Test

This training is designed for Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 6 and Netscape Navigator Version 7.2.

Your browser does not have JavaScript Enabled.
JavaScript needs to be Enabled.

Step 3:
Adobe Acrobat Reader® Test

You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader® 6 or higher to open many of the resource files in this training. Click on the link below to test your computer. If you are prompted to download a file named "adobe_acrobat_test.pdf" then you do not have the reader installed. Press "cancel" and proceed to download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader®.

If the message "Could not find ColorSpace named CS0" displays, you may have an older version of Adobe Acrobat Reader®. Please install a newer copy by clicking the button above.

 
Step 4:
Macromedia™ Flash Player Test

You must have Macromedia™ Flash Player 8 or higher to view the interactive portion of this training.

Your browser does not have JavaScript Enabled.
JavaScript needs to be Enabled.
Please refer to Step 1 for instructions.

 

Step 5:
Font Setting Test

This setting on your computer may cause some text to appear off screen. Your computer should be set to display small/regular size fonts. If the text below is completely inside the red box, your computer font setting is okay.

You can adjust your font setting on Windows-based computers by accessing the "Display" window in the "Control Panel," or the font setting in Internet Explorer under "View" -> "Text Size" -> "Medium."

 
Step 6:
Screen Resolution Test

This setting on your computer may cause the graphics and text to misalign making it hard to read. Your screen resolution must be at least 800 x 600.
