New and Updated Resources from the AETC   

The AIDS Education and Training Centers (AETC) National Resource Center is a valuable resource for multi-disciplinary education and training programs for healthcare providers treating people with HIV/AIDS. Its Web site provides a central repository for training materials developed within the AETC network. Below are updated and new resources:

 

Updated Antiretroviral Reference Tables for Clinicians

Charts and tables covering common antiretroviral management concerns, available online and as print-optimized PDF files addressing:

          Dosage adjustments for ARV–ARV drug interactions

          Dosing for ritonavir-boosted protease inhibitors

          Options for once-daily dosing of antiretrovirals

          Dosing of antiretroviral drugs in cases of renal insufficiency and hemodialysis

          Adverse effects of antiretroviral drugs

 

Toolkits for the Primary Care Provider

Tools include algorithms, diagnostic tools, and other resources to guide the management of primary care co-morbidities and complications that emerge in patients with HIV infection.

 

Toolkits Include:

          Chronic Pain  

          Dyslipidemia  

          Hepatitis       

          Depression    

          Substance Abuse

         

 

New and Updated Chapters from the Clinical Manual for Management of the HIV-Infected Adult

Developed collaboratively by AETC faculty from around the country, the Clinical Manual for Management of the HIV-Infected Adult includes new and updated chapters:

          Toxoplasmosis

          Oral Health Maintenance and HIV

          Cryptosporidiosis

          Preventing HIV Transmission/Prevention with Positives

       

HIV Rapid Test Training

The HIV Rapid Test Training Package is organized into 16 modules and has several components, including a training video/DVD, presentation slides, trainer's guide, participant's manual, and laminated job aides. All the training package materials provide flexibility for adapting to meet specific country requirements.
