Rocky Ridge Fire spike camp - Umpqua National Forest
This photo was taken on Rocky Ridge, after a shift on the fire by the same name. The fire was human-caused and grew to about 8 acres before the crew assisted several rappellers with containment on the 9th. The photo was taken at a shelter that served as the crew's spike camp for two nights. The following day, the crew was mobilized to the Rattle Fire for the remainder of the tour.
Currently, the 2008 fire season has come to a close for the crew. The above photo is in honor of the crew for a season of diligence, hard work and camaraderie. The photo captures the essence of a hotshot crew after a successful and challenging day, this being one of many over the last few months. Thanks to the 2008 Baker River IHC for a strong season.
