Description, Attractions & Considerations:

An easy, short hike to a picturesque subalpine lake. The trail begins in an old clear-cut, but quickly enters the timber. A junction in the trail at .2 miles heads to Dock Butte, former site of a Forest Service fire lookout. Stay left at this junction for Blue Lake. The trail wanders through timber and small meadows for another .5 mile before dropping to Blue Lake, elevation 4000 feet. Use already established campsites available at the lake. Water is available but should be treated for drinking. Blue Lake supports a population of trout. A Washington State fishing license is required for fishing.

A Northwest Forest Pass is required for each vehicle parked at the trailhead.
