AIDSinfo.nih.gov is pleased to provide you with a weekly update of highlights about what has happened in the world of HIV/AIDS treatment, prevention, and research. We hope you find this encapsulated view of HIV/AIDS news useful.    

 

Easier Access to HIV/AIDS Information Online @ AIDSinfo.nih.gov

AIDSinfo launches new Web site features on the 18^th observance of World AIDS Day; the features allow users to find information, order publications, and use the site’s resources more quickly and easily. In keeping with the U.S. World AIDS Day theme, Action Makes a Difference, AIDSinfo offers trustworthy information on research, clinical trials, prevention, and treatment via the AIDSinfo Web site, while staff respond to inquiries by phone, fax, and postal and e-mail.  

The improved site search function provides faster and more accurate results. To assist searchers, the requested terms are highlighted in the results. When search terms produce fewer than five results, searchers receive messages asking “Do you mean?” along with a list of additional terms or phrases that will yield more results. Searchers can refine their searches by pre-specified categories.

The AIDSinfo Drug Database now features enhanced navigation and many ways to search: drug name, drug class, FDA-approved/Investigational status, or by alphabetical browse.

 

Almost all AIDSinfo materials are now available for download or via e-mail in PDF format. The redesigned Publications Ordering section makes it easy to find and order guidelines, consumer fact sheets, and other resources. Site visitors can browse for publications in English or Spanish and can leave the ordering section of the site without losing information about their orders.
