ATSDR to Hold Public Availability Session to Hear Health Concerns Related to Sun Oil Co. Site in Oregon, Ohio
Discussion Will Include the Upcoming Air Sampling

ATLANTA - The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), a public health agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, today announced that the agency will hold a public availability session on Oct. 14 to hear community concerns related to the Sun Oil Co. Site in Oregon, Ohio. Agency representatives will discuss the upcoming air sampling that will be conducted in the community. Also, residents will have an opportunity to volunteer to assist with the air sampling.
The session will be held Oct. 14 from 7: 30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at:Community members seeking information on the procedures or the content of the public availability session may contact Environmental Health Scientist Jennifer Freed or Health Communication Specialist Youlanda Outin, toll free, at 1-888-422-8737. The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, ATSDR, a federal public health agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, evaluates the human health effects of exposure to hazardous substances. Established by Congress in 1980 under the Superfund law, ATSDR conducts public health assessments at each of the sites on the EPA National Priorities List, as well as other sites when petitioned. Headquartered in Atlanta, ATSDR is staffed by more than 400 health professionals including epidemiologists, physicians, toxicologists, engineers and public health educators.
